Positions and PnL in Pepegun – how the bot counts profit

In short

A position is a token that sits in your wallets. The bot remembers what it cost you in GRAM and shows what it is worth now and your PnL: profit or loss.

How it works

For each token the bot counts two GRAM amounts:

  • Initial – what the tokens cost you. Buys through the bot count at the exact amount spent. Tokens that came into the wallet from elsewhere count at their value when they arrived. If you sold part, the initial value goes down by the same share.
  • Current – how much GRAM you would get if you sold everything right now. For DeDust, STON.fi and moon.cx pools the bot already accounts for the pool fee, the trade's price impact and the token's tax. For other venues it is price × amount.

PnL = Current − Initial, in GRAM, dollars and percent.

The bot always takes the token amount from your wallets on-chain. If you send tokens to another address, the position shrinks.

Where positions come from

A position appears by itself when:

  • you bought a token through the bot (it appears once the network confirms the buy);
  • a token with a market (a pool with at least 3 GRAM or a launchpad curve) arrived in your wallet from elsewhere;
  • you opened the card of a token you hold;
  • you tapped Refresh in the position list: the bot checks your wallets and finds tokens that are not in the list yet.

Tokens with no market and small leftovers under $0.05 that have no initial value usually do not make it to the list.

The «Your positions» screen

Tap 💼 Positions in the main menu or send /positions.

A page holds up to 5 positions. Each has:

  • the venue, $TICKER, PnL in percent and a Hide link;
  • Initial and Current value in GRAM and dollars;
  • Profit or Loss;
  • the token's FDV and LP, and the price;
  • Duration – the time since the first buy;
  • 🚀 Trade (open the token card) and 🗑 Delete links.

At the bottom is the Positions summary: the initial and current value of all positions and uPNL – the total unrealized PnL, that is the profit or loss on tokens you still hold.

❓ instead of numbers

❓ instead of the initial value means the bot does not know what the token cost you. Such a position has no PnL, and the summary lists it on a separate line «No known basis (not in uPNL)». To start counting PnL from now, open the token card and tap «Reset Initial Value».

Screen buttons

  • Arrows and [ 1 / 3 ] – pages of the list. From the last page the arrow goes back to the first.
  • Visible / 🫣 Hidden – which list to show.
  • Sort: ⏳ (🔀) – the order. Each tap moves to the next one: ⏳ fresh (latest buy on top) → 💸 profit in dollars → % PnL in percent. In the last two, positions with ❓ go to the end.
  • 👁 Hide value – hides all amounts: tickers, percentages and links stay. Handy for screenshots. Show value brings the amounts back.
  • Positions as image – a picture of every position in the current list (up to 40 per picture; with more, the bot sends several). The caption has your referral link.
  • Positions without value – the same picture with only the tokens and their change in percent.
  • ⬅️ Back and Refresh – back to the menu and refresh the list.

Position actions

  • 🚀 Trade opens the token card.
  • Hide moves the position to the 🫣 Hidden list. The 👁 Show link brings it back. Hidden positions are not part of the visible list's summary.
  • 🗑 Delete removes the position and its history from the bot. The bot sends «🆘 Position $TICKER deleted!» with its last numbers. The position comes back if you buy the token through the bot again, receive it in your wallet or open its card while you still hold it. The bot then counts it from scratch: the history before the deletion does not return.

The position on the token card

If the wallets selected on the card hold the token, the card has a 💼 Position block:

  • (⏳ 2d 4h 10m 5s) – the time since the first buy;
  • Reset Initial Value – a link that recounts the initial value at the token's current price. PnL starts from about zero, and the time count starts over too. Useful when the tokens came from elsewhere, or when you want to count your result from today;
  • Initial / Current and PnL in GRAM, dollars and percent;
  • Avg Entry – your average entry price expressed as FDV: at what token FDV you bought on average;
  • Sold – if you already sold part through the bot and the position is still open: how much GRAM you got and how many tokens you sold.

How to close a position

Sell 100% on the token card: Mode 📉 Sell (🔀) → 🪙 100%. Once the network confirms the sale, the position leaves the list and the bot sends a PnL picture if it knows the initial value. The final profit or loss goes into the statistics of your Profile.

The PnL picture

You can get a picture with your result in three ways:

  • after every confirmed sale, if the bot knows the initial value;
  • with the Share button on the token card, when the card shows a position with PnL;
  • with the Positions as image and Positions without value buttons for the whole list.

Good to know

  • Position numbers are cached briefly so the list opens fast. To recount everything right now, tap Refresh.
  • The bot remembers your sort order, the view (visible or hidden) and «Hide value».
  • Alerts when a position goes up or down are switched on in ⚙️ Settings → 🆘 Alerts: Alerts.

If something goes wrong

  • «No positions yet.» The bot has no positions for you yet. Open the card of a token you hold, or buy something through the bot.
  • I hold the token but there is no position. Tap Refresh in the list or open the token card. If you deleted this position before, open the token card: it comes back.
  • Odd PnL on tokens that came from elsewhere. Their initial value is their value when they arrived, not what you paid somewhere else. Tap «Reset Initial Value» if you want to count from now.
