Glossary: crypto terms in plain words
Every unfamiliar word you meet in the bot and in these docs is explained here. When a word in the text is a link, its meaning is on this page.
Basics
GRAM
The native coin of the TON network. You buy tokens and pay network fees in GRAM, and the bot shows every amount and balance in GRAM. Other apps may call this coin TON or Toncoin.
Wallet and address
A wallet is your account on the TON network. It has an address: a long string of letters and digits that GRAM and tokens can be sent to. Sharing your address is safe.
Seed phrase
The 24 secret words (Telegram Wallet sometimes uses 12) that give full control of a wallet. Whoever knows the phrase owns the money. Never show it to anyone. More in Safety.
Gas (network fee)
A small fee the TON network charges for every operation: a buy, a sell, a transfer. It is paid in GRAM by the wallet that sends the operation, so always keep a little GRAM in your wallet.
Jetton
The name for a token on TON. Memecoins, stablecoins like USD₮ and the tokens you create in the launcher are all jettons.
TonConnect
A way to connect your own wallet app (Tonkeeper, MyTonWallet and others) to the bot without a seed phrase. The bot prepares an operation and you approve it in the wallet app. More: TonConnect.
Explorer
A website that shows everything happening on the network: balances, transactions, tokens, holders. Tonviewer is one example. The bot opens the explorer you picked in settings.
Trading
DEX (exchange)
A decentralised exchange that lives on the blockchain. Swaps go through a smart contract, with no middleman. The bot trades on DeDust, STON.fi, TONCO and moon.cx pools, and on launchpad curves.
Pool
A contract on an exchange that holds two assets, for example a token and GRAM. When you buy a token, you put GRAM into the pool and take tokens out. The price depends on how much of each is in the pool.
Liquidity
How much money is in a pool. The more liquidity, the calmer the price reacts to trades. With little liquidity, even a small buy moves the price a lot.
LP
On a token card, LP is the pool's liquidity in dollars, and «LP fee» is the fee the pool itself takes for a swap (for a token on a curve, the curve's fee). LP also means the share of a pool you get when you put your coins and tokens into it.
Slippage
How far the price may move against you while the trade travels through the network. If it moves further, the exchange cancels the swap and returns the money. The bot's default is 10%. More: Slippage.
Price impact
How much your own trade moves the pool price. A big buy in a small pool can push the price up by tens of percent, so you pay more than you saw.
FDV
The price of one token times the total number of tokens. It shows what the market values the whole token at right now. Charts in the bot use FDV by default.
MCap (market cap)
Market capitalisation: the token price times the number of tokens, in dollars. Copy trade filters, for example, count it this way.
ATH
All-time high: the highest price or FDV a token has ever had.
PnL
Profit and loss. A plus means you are in profit, a minus means a loss. The bot counts PnL for each position and in your profile.
Ticker
A token's short name, for example NOT. In the bot you can open a token by its ticker with a dollar sign: $NOT.
Holders
Wallets that hold the token.
Honeypot
A trap token: you can buy it but you can't sell it. Before buying a token you don't know, look at its card and the bot's warnings.
Timeframe
The period one candle on a chart covers: 1 minute, 15 minutes, 1 hour and so on.
Screener
A website with token charts and statistics, such as DexScreener or GeckoTerminal. You choose which screeners the card links to in settings.
TP/SL
Take Profit and Stop Loss: an automatic sell when the price rises to your target (lock in profit) or falls (limit the loss). More: TP/SL.
Bundle
A saved group of your wallets. Pick it with one tap to trade from several wallets at once. More: Bundles.
Token launches
Launchpad (memepad)
A platform where a new token launches with trading on a curve right away: moon.cx, Uranus, TopBlast and others. Through the bot you can launch your own token and buy new ones.
Bonding curve
How a token trades right after a launchpad launch. Tokens are bought from the platform's contract and sold back to it, and the price rises with every buy. When the curve has collected enough GRAM, the token moves to a regular exchange.
Bond
The moment the curve fills up and the token moves from the launchpad to a pool on an exchange.
Deployer
A wallet that creates tokens. A deployer snipe watches such a wallet and buys its new token as soon as it can be traded.
Dev buy
The amount of GRAM the creator spent buying their own token at launch.
Supply
How many tokens exist in total. The launcher's default is 1,000,000,000.
Decimals
How many digits after the decimal point a token has. Usually 9. It can't be changed after the token is created.
Mint
Issuing new tokens. Only the holder of the token's admin rights can mint, and only until they give the rights up.
