Launching a token on moon.cx and Uranus with Pepegun

In short

Launch a token on the moon.cx or Uranus launchpad in a few taps. People can buy and sell it right away, and you can be the first to buy some of your own token: that buy shows up in your positions.

How it works

A launchpad creates the token by its own rules and puts it on a bonding curve at once: tokens are bought from and sold to the platform's contract, and the price goes up with every buy. You only set the picture, name, ticker and description. The platform sets the supply and decimals.

At launch you can make a first buy: spend some GRAM and get your tokens at the very first price, before anyone else. It is optional.

How moon.cx and Uranus differ:

moon.cxUranus
What you paythe moon.cx fee + 0.2 GRAM of gas + the first buythe first buy + 0.1 GRAM of gas
Name and tickershorter: up to 32 and up to 10 Latin lettersup to 64 and up to 16 characters
Descriptionshorter, stored on-chainup to 500 characters
First buy0 or from 0.01 GRAM0 or from 0.01 to below 1500 GRAM

The network fee comes on top of any amount. The unspent gas comes back to the wallet.

Step by step

1. Pick the platform

🚀 Launcher → 👛 New deploy → 🚀 moon.cx or 🪐 Uranus.

The «New token on moon.cx» (or «on Uranus») window opens. It looks like the standard token's window, but instead of supply and decimals it has a «First buy» field.

2. Fill in the fields

  • 🔓 Picture: a photo or a PNG, JPEG or WebP file, from 64×64, up to 10 MB. The bot crops it to a square.
  • 🧾 Name and 🪙 Ticker. For moon.cx the limit is counted in Latin letters: a Cyrillic letter takes the room of two, an emoji of four. The name is up to 32 Latin letters, the ticker up to 10 with no spaces.
  • 🐸 Description, optional. moon.cx keeps the description on-chain, so it is shorter than usual. The prompt tells you how many characters fit: it depends on the length of the name and ticker.
  • 👛 Wallet: it pays for the launch and receives the tokens of the first buy.

3. Decide on the first buy

Tap 💎 First buy and send an amount in GRAM, for example 5. No buy: send 0 or tap No buy.

The rules:

  • 0 (no buy) or from 0.01 GRAM.
  • On moon.cx the buy cannot take the whole curve at once.
  • On Uranus the buy must be below 1500 GRAM.

4. Tap «Deploy» and check

Tap 🚀 Deploy. The bot checks the fields and the balance, and for moon.cx reads the platform's current fee right then. The «Check the token» screen opens:

  • the name, ticker and description;
  • the platform, the supply and decimals 9;
  • the first buy and about how many tokens it gets you;
  • how much GRAM leaves the wallet and what the amount is made of.

If everything is right, tap ✅ Confirm.

5. Wait for the confirmation

The bot writes «Sending the launch to moon.cx…», then «The $PEPE launch on moon.cx is sent, waiting for the network to confirm…». When the token appears, you get «Token $PEPE is created on moon.cx» with the address and an explorer link. If you made a first buy, it also has the line «First buy: … PEPE already in the wallet».

Buttons: 🪙 Open token (the card for trading), 📦 My deploys and ⬅️ Back.

What you get

  • A token on the platform's curve. Anyone can buy and sell it right away, through Pepegun too. A token launched through the bot on Uranus is labelled Uranus on its card.
  • The first buy's tokens in the chosen wallet.
  • A position in the bot. The first buy is recorded like a regular buy: the token appears in 💼 Positions, and its initial value is the first buy amount. The platform's fee and the gas are not included: they are the price of creating the token, not of buying it.
  • An entry in «My deploys» with the platform, supply, description and wallet.

Such tokens have no minting, editing or revoking: the token's contract belongs to the platform.

What a Uranus token looks like

The bot launches every token on Uranus with the same parameters:

  • supply 1 000 000 000, decimals 9;
  • once buyers bring 1500 GRAM to the curve, the token moves from the curve to a DeDust pool.

Good to know

  • The moon.cx fee is read right before the launch, and the exact amount is shown in the window and on the «Check the token» screen. If moon.cx raises the fee while the «Check the token» screen is open, the bot sends nothing and asks you to confirm the new amount.
  • Balance. On top of the launch amount, the wallet needs another 0.03 GRAM for the network fee.
  • The fields carry over. If you started with one platform and changed your mind, the picture, name, ticker and description stay when you pick another one. For moon.cx the bot checks the length again. Just don't tap ⬅️ Cancel in the token window: it erases the draft.
  • No separate Pepegun fee is charged for a launch.

If something goes wrong

«The wallet is not activated on the network yet: its first transfer carries the wallet code…» This wallet in the bot has never sent anything. Make any small transfer from it, for example 0.01 GRAM, then launch the token again.

«Not enough GRAM in the wallet: … needed, … available.» Top up the wallet. The «needed» amount already includes the fee, the gas, the first buy and the reserve for the network fee.

«Send an amount of GRAM: 0 or from 0.01.» Send 0 or an amount from 0.01. Use a dot or a comma for the fractional part.

«Such a first buy would take the whole moon.cx curve at once. Enter less.» Lower the first buy.

«The first buy on Uranus must be below 1500 GRAM.» Lower the first buy.

«For moon.cx the name is up to 32 Latin letters…», «The description is too long for moon.cx: N characters of this text fit.» Shorten the text. Remember that Cyrillic letters and emoji take more room.

«moon.cx changed its launch fee: it is … GRAM now. Check the amount and confirm again.» Look at the new amount and confirm the launch again.

«Launching on moon.cx is unavailable right now. Try again later.» (or on Uranus) The platform is not taking launches at the moment. Try again later.

«Uranus did not accept the launch (code N). The GRAM comes back to the wallet.» The platform refused the launch, the GRAM you sent is returned. Try again.

«The launch was not confirmed by the network. Check the wallet balance and try again.» The token was not created. Check the balance and launch again.

«The network is not responding right now. The token's status will be in «My deploys».» Open 🔎 My deploys in a minute: it shows whether the token was created.
